“Utopia” Pioneers just moved into their new habitat on August 28, but the compound will be one pioneer short. 15 individuals were supposed to move into the compound, however, Fox and production have already kicked out Andrea Cox for contract violations.
Prior to moving into their new habitat for the next year, the 15 selected pioneers were sequestered in an undisclosed location. Fox and producers released a statement to Zap2It. “Due to violation of production policies, Andrea Cox will not enter ‘Utopia’ today with the other 14 pioneers. Replacement details will be announced.” It appears that Cox tried to contact her fellow pioneers prior to moving, which is in breach of the confidentiality agreement.
Shows like CBS’s “Big Brother” have lost potential contestants due to similar breaches in agreements. Typically, there are alternates ready to replace, however, it does not appear “Utopia” sequestered more than 15 people, as the social experiment is already underway. Contingency plans will surely be addressed soon.
