Which ‘Idol’ Alum Might Sign On As Judge?

Update: Sources are now listing a number of other names being considered for the new judge’s table. They include, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Will.i.Am, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry as well as the aforementioned Adam Lambert.

Rumors as to how the judge’s table will be shaped next season on Idol are already flying out of control. Between an X Factor shake-up with the additions of Britney Spears and Demi Levato and the ever relevant coaches on The Voice, American Idol wants to keep the show’s spirit but clearly change up its game at the judge’s table. With that comes rumors and among those are the exits of all three current judges – Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. While that remains to be confirmed, what is seemingly becoming more of an option is the addition to runner-up and alum, Adam Lambert.

An uncited “source” tells E!News that Idol has been talking with Lambert for quite some time now. “He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end of the judges’ comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can’t go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him.” This source also cited Randy as part of the “old Idol,” not assuring his safety as a judge.

Even negotiations with executive producer Nigel Lythgoe are up in the air at the moment. His new show, Opening Act, premieres tonight on E! and he’s currently at the helm of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. There has been no comment from Fox regarding the situation but we’ll bring you all the news as it develops.

What do you think? Will Adam Lambert be a good fit for the show? If there will be a new panel of judges, who do you want to see on it? Sound off below!
