According to sources close to Charlie Sheen, CBS has offered him his job back. Discussion are ongoing, and are of course not a done deal by any means (according to NBC’s Jeff Rosen) but there is an 80% chance he may return.
According to an unnamed source talking to HollywoodLife, “The rumors are true — CBS wants Charlie back. They saw how popular his tour has become, how it has been selling out, and when word spread that he started talking to Fox about a late-night show, some decision-makers got a little antsy.”
If these rumors are true, this would be a huge about face for CBS who have been at war with Sheen this last month. Raises questions, however, if this was all a publicity stunt to pick up even more ratings. I mean after all, everything that has gone down has been Charlie’s character, straight from the show. Drinking, hookers (porn stars). It would be an exceptional ploy if that were the case. If you think about it, Two and a Half Men got publicity on NBC, ABC, CNN etc. not to mention all the free publicity on the web.
Biggest question is, whether a ratings ploy or not, will you tune back in? I’m not so sure I will. The show was already getting pretty stale for me before the Sheen fiasco. How about you?
