YAK BIG BROTHER: SEASON 4 RAMPS IT UP WITH RETURNING PLAYERS AND NEW RULES
YAK BIG BROTHER HOUSE – April 1, 2014 – With just months before the start of the fourth season of Yakkity Yaks hit summer series, Executive Producers Sheldon Sherman and Mikey Chen have released some major details about the upcoming series. For a show that is always looking to redefine itself with bigger games, flashier personalities, and outrageous content, Sherman and Chen have promised that this summer will break all the rules.
In keeping with the summer series sub-titles, this season will be officially known as “Yak Big Brother: Back to Basics,” which will play off the theme of focusing on a simpler time, when not everything was in control by the players of the game.
“The rules that have helped to define the Yak Big Brother game over the last three seasons will still be there,” explains Sherman, who was a season one HouseGuest before stepping behind the scenes and hosting last season. “However, expect a lot of changes when it comes to finding out how the game will be played on a season-long basis. We’re going to focus on ‘Expecting the Unexpected’ a lot more this season.”
Among the changes this season, several previous players will return as coaches to the new batch of HouseGuests, including a former winner of the 2 year-old series. In a twist, the coaches will also act as judges for the nominated HouseGuests each week, where they’ll be able to save an evicted HouseGuest by “staying their execution from the Yak Big Brother House.” After their near-death eviction, the saved HouseGuest will become the “Judge and Jury” for the Head of Household who nominated them by creating a week-long series of tortures.
“This new change will go down in the YBB History Books for spawning the highest number of Internet Memes by one person in a 7-day period,” said Chen, who also returns as host of the upcoming season. “Finding out what will be required will only be half of the fun. The other half will be seeing how the poor HouseGuest will react.”
In addition, the HouseGuests will be required to do a 1-hour LIVE Video show every week, where the eviction and Head of Household challenges will be performed in front of the viewing audience from around the world. The LIVE Video show will also be a first for Yak Big Brother, as the evicted HouseGuest will need to sing a song of the audience’s choice in order to receive their weekly stipend of $75 for each week they stay in the House. If they don’t sing, they’ll lose their stipend and miss on the chance to join the Yak Big Brother concert tour at the end of the summer season. A LIVE CD of the tour will be recorded and released before Christmas 2014, with the proceeds going to the “Yak Big Brother Animal Farm Fund” (YBBAFF)
More details about the fourth season will be released at a kick-off gala in May, celebrating the past 3 seasons of Yak Big Brother, which will be hosted by season one celebrities.
“Yak Big Brother: Back to Basics” will premiere June 2014 at www.YakkityYaks.com, with applications for aspiring HouseGuests opening later this month.
