Well, Yakksters. It’s not hump-day. I mean, we can make it hump day for some people if y’all want. That said, sorry the Reality check is a day late, but here we go. Let’s just dive in! For all these shows and more, don’t forget to join the forums! The Biggest Loser ~ Can we say “Would you rather”???? Well I can. I’d rather not see someone making crazy decisions based on panic and paranoia, but last night’s episode showed me that. Right off the bat they had a temptation. Step over the board and gain a two pound advantage. You could see the smoke risin’ from the heads of those considering it. Then all of a sudden, poof…there goes Tracy. Purple team, Tracy and Coach Mo, have now taken the two pound advantage at weigh in. What??? I asked myself would I do that for two pounds? Shoot no! And Coach Mo was stunned when Tracy stepped across the board. Not only that but they gave up using the trainers for a week for that two pound advantage. Not a good thing when you’re only 3 weeks into it. And were Bob and Jillian upset?
You bet your sweet bippy they were! Next came the food temptation! They were all placed in little cube things with black curtains on each side so they couldn’t see each other. Then little cupcakes were placed on a plate in front of them. The person who ate the most cupcakes in 10 minutes would pick whose weight in each couple would count at the weigh in. Only one person’s weight would count. Antoine ate two cupcakes and stopped. Once again, Tracy won. She ate four cupcakes. At times you wonder if this woman has all her marbles or if the elevator only stopped at the second floor. Once again Jillian and Bob were bent out of shape. Bob says things quietly and calmly but Jillian….wooboy! She was fuming. Finally the challenge: They had a choice to carry two 10 pound cartons or one 25 pound carton. The 25 pound carton was farther away. They had to carry them up an incline. First team to raise the flag won immunity. Kudos to Allen on the green team. He chose to carry the two 10 pound cartons. His partner, Abby, has a stress fracture on her tibia so she couldn’t participate. He had to drop in 250 pounds to raise his flag and he did it, gaining the green team immunity! Now to the weigh in: Tracy talked to Daniel (orange team). Daniel is partnered with Shay, the biggest person on campus ever. Tracy told Daniel she wanted Shay to stay. Daniel told Tracy he wanted her to pick his weight to count and not Shay’s. Then Tracy talked to Rebecca and the little blonde America picked to go on the show. Tracy asked them if she fell below the yellow line would they not vote for her. She didn’t get a definitive answer. So now you imagine what happened. Tracy picked Shay’s weight to count instead of Daniel’s. She picked the blonde woman’s weight to count instead of Rebecca’s. Partners in the bottom two: Sean and Antoine (Tracy picked Sean’s weight to count yet Antoine lost more). Shay and Daniel. When Tracy weighed in, she lost 11 pounds. Coach Mo lost 1 pound. They came out on top. Sean and Antoine did the most selfless act I have ever seen on TBL. They both knew they had the support system at home to keep them motivated to lose the weight. They knew that Shay didn’t. I swear I was in tears by the time all four of them were through talking to the others who would be voting. They basically said they needed to be sent home because Shay didn’t have the support system and she needed to be there. Shay weighed almost 500 pounds when she first started. So Sean and Antoine left with dignity, integrity and a whole passel of respect from me (not that it really matters). Afterwards, Sean has lost 120 pounds. Antoine has lost 106 pounds. Kudos to them! Side note: Alexandra, the first one eliminated, has hooked up with Antoine outside the house and they are working out together. What a beautiful thing!!! So here’s your choice: Would you rather see people play the game for the game’s sake or go on TBL to change and save their lives? Me? I’d rather see the life change. Like the Beatles said: Money can’t buy you love. Come discuss TBL with us and don’t miss Tuesday’s episode! (~ Grandmamichelf)
Shark Tank ~ Well, ABC brings us their version of the Apprentice to television. Not quite the same, but the same, if you know what I’m sayin’. (By the way, if you do, let me know because I’m clueless). I did not watch Shark Tank, but it
seems the premise is to present business ideas to 5 multimillionaires, who will either pass or invest. Now when they say business ideas … do they mean inventions to revolutionize mankind or are they talking about who can come up with the 20th iPhone imitator? I guess if you’re curious, tune in to ABC on Tuesday 8PM EST! Come here to discuss if you so dare. Watch out for Jaws.
Survivor ~ This has to be the single dumbest group of contestants ever, sans, dare I say it……Fat Russell. First, I can’t believe noone else has ever thought of looking for the Idol before a clue came out, but who does? Evil Fat Russell. Then he gets them, again, to boot out not who would benefit the tribe by leaving, but who would benefit him the most by leaving. Unless someone wisens up, we could be reminding Fat Russell to pay his taxes on his winnings. Agree or disagree? Come talk about Survivor in our forums and don’t miss our weekly episode threads, including the one for tonight! (~Ahrean)
The Amazing Race ~ Ladies and Gentleman, the RACE if FINAL-FREAKIN-LY back! The teams were thrown a huge twist right in the beginning with the fact that one of them will not make it past the starting line. If I had my pick, it would have been “Team Boston” as they are being known. Lance and Keri are already on my nerves. Moreso, Lance. Then again, he’s a lawyer with big biceps – maybe he’ll beat me up. Speaking of people that annoy me. Poker players are NOT giving me a good impression lately. First Nastalie on Big Brother, now these two. Seriously. I have no problem with lying about what you do for a living – it’s a game, their choice. Their bickering, cockiness (when I haven’t seen reason for them to be cocky) and all-around snobbiness is already annoying the hell outta me too! But enough about the annoyances. This Race seems to NEVER disappoint with the cast. So many likeable teams. We’ll see how they progress. Onto the actual race … Japanese Game Show had me laughing my ass off!!
I thought the producers incorporated that very well. It was a good way to have all the teams on the same level after the surprise elimination. Speaking of which, I wouldn’t have minded to get to know the yoga couple. Too bad. And damn, having 20 people follow you in those busy streets. Shit. Although, some teams had the right idea. One in front, one in back. I was a bit surprised they didn’t spend more time in Tokyo. Oh, another thing. Why in the hell do the poker chicks have wheely bags? Have they never seen this show. That’s going to get real hard to keep track of soon. Anyways, then we headed off to Vietnam. Watching the Duck Whisperer herd the ducks was amazing. Watching Canaan SNAP at Mika was a little unexpected too. Pressure was high, so it made sense. We did lost Jessica and Garrett, but news has broke that the couple is engaged! We wish them the best together! Well, be sure not to miss next week’s episode. We’ve got a lot of the Race @ the Yak. We’ll have our own Race mixed in with our Pick ‘em Game. Deadline is Sunday! Don’t miss our weekly episode threads in our forum either!
So You Think You Can Dance ~ Yet another pair of audition rounds – Atlanta and New Orleans. I’ve gotten to notice how often Nigel makes the decisions here. But as a producer, I guess he should. I think it’s interesting how they tore up the twins in Atlanta. The one twin definitely wasn’t on his game in choreography, although those two
did amazing together! Having Lil C back as a judge was great – dude has crazy vocab and can talk to much, but it’s all good. I do like when they give us touching stories about contestants, like the girl with the rare hand cancer. Sometimes its a bit biased for them to get us attached, but come on now. It’s reality. What’s also reality is the rumor that one of the girls who fell to the ground in excitement after getting a ticket to Vegas showed her lady business without FOX blurring it out. Reality it is. Join us in to discuss Atlanta and New Orleans auditions! Don’t miss SYTYCD next Tuesday @ 8 EST on FOX for the last round of auditions and Wednesday for Vegas callbacks!
And with that, Wingz out!
