Yak’s Reality Check!

Happy Hump Day, Yakksters! As the fall season creeps up on us ever so quickly (read: TONIGHT even!), we wanted to start something new here at the Yak! Every Wednesday, we’re gonna call you all over for your own “reality check!” The Yak is going to be your one stop shop for everything reality and then some! If you’re crazy in the head enough, click below and be sure to join us in our forums! We’d love to hear from ya!

Reality? I don’t think anyone knows the true meaning of the word, but let’s try and figure it out together, shall we? Maybe by the end of the new TV season, we’ll have an inkling, right?

Tonight marks the start of Fall TV reality and the Yak’s got you covered!

So You Think You Can Dance (FOX): SYTYCD ended its 5th season not too long ago with Jeanine crowed it’s winner! If ya ask me, Season 5 was entertaining, but dammit, I want people to root for. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the dancers and the choreography, but I wanna care about a finale, not just be “ok” with whoever wins. That said, Jeanine was beautiful, danced well and deserved it after being paired with Phillip for so damn wrong. Ya, I wasn’t on the whole Phillip making Top 20 train. Season 6 starts TONIGHT with LA Auditions @ 8PM on FOX! Join us to talk SYTYCD! Plus, we get more Cat Deeley!

America’s Next Top Model (CW): So, to be honest. I know nothing about this show. It’s about models. I don’t even know if they’re hot (sorry gentlemen). On the heels of Whitney Thompson becoming the first plus-sized model to win, I’m sure Tyra’s got some surprises somewhere up her sleeves. If she’s not wearing sleeves, I don’t wanna know where the surprises are coming from. This season’s catch phrase is ”‘The Lineup Is 5″7′ And Under. Not The Usual Suspects. BOOK ‘EM!” ANTM cycle 13 premieres TONIGHT @ 8PM on the CW. Be sure to chat with Yak’s ANTM folk on everything from this season!

The Biggest Loser (NBC): I must say, I have never been able to associate with the title “The Biggest Loser.” I guess that’s what happens when you’re someone like me. It looks like NBC is giving a second chance to those who might want to finish what they started. With the biggest pre-show weigh in at 476 lbs, I’m sure this’ll be a season with plenty to lose (or gain if you’re looking at it from NBC’s point of view). Be sure to come to the Yak and discuss this season with some of the biggest losers on the web! (Of course, that doesn’t include me). The latest season premieres Tuesday, Sept 15 @ 8PM on NBC!

And with that, Wingz … Out!
