Uploaded just over an hour ago, Melanie Martinez has debuted her official new video for her track ‘Dollhouse’. It’s… Interesting. A bit dark and creepy for sure.
You all remember Melanie. She was the girl on Adam’s team with the two toned hair, half blond/half black on The Voice Season 3. There was uproar one week when Christina decided that Melanie was not paying enough attention to her critique and showed her disapproval. Melanie fans took to Twitter angry with Christina for being so rude. This was the same year that Cassadee Pope won for Blake’s team.
Give her new video a look and and let us know what you think in the comments below!
The presents are already coming to Kelly Clarkson this holiday season. In addition to eloping with her fiance any day now, Clarkson just announced via social media that she will have her very own TV Christmas special this season! Given the allusions to a special in the past few weeks, the announcement doesn’t come as a major surprise. What does come as a surprise, however, is that it will be padded with NBC’s The Voice.
On December 10, NBC will air Kelly Clarkson’s (Cautionary) Christmas Tale immediately following The Voice! Being friends with Blake Shelton sure has its perks. This special will help promote Kelly’s first Christmas album, Wrapped in Red, which is set to be released October 25!
Kelly isn’t the first American Idol champ to have their own Christmas special. Carrie Underwood hosted her own special on Fox shortly after being crowned the season 4 champ and featured special guests from Dolly Parton to Kristen Chenoweth to Christina Applegate and more.
The special will tape at the Venetian in Las Vegas on Oct 30. Tickets are on sale now!
In addition to the news that Christina Aguilera will be returning to “The Voice” this fall (which Carson Daly confirmed via Twitter), it appears the hit NBC competition will be opening their arms to welcome back all of their coaches.
The Peacock network confirmed to EW that Shakira and Usher will return to “The Voice” during the show’s 6th cycle, which will air in the spring of 2014. However, until then, joining Aguilera this Fall is former coach Cee Lo Green. The panel of Blake, Adam, Christina and Cee Lo will be reunited when the show’s red chairs swivel this fall.
Aguilera and Green recently took off the season’s 4th cycle to focus on personal projects. As such, Usher and Shakira will take the fall off for similar reasons.
Are you excited to see all of the coaches at some point in the next year?

UPDATE: NBC just announced the artists the Top 3 will perform special duets with Tuesday night during The Voice finale. Cassadee Pope will perform side by side with Avril Lavigne, while Team Blake teammate Terry McDermott sings alongside Peter Frampton. Nicholas David of Team Cee Lo will perform with Smokey Robinson.
We’re just under a week away from the third finale of NBC’s hit singing competition, The Voice, and NBC announced some of the headlining megastars that will be taking center stage for the finale. Bolstering the popular competitions finalists – Cassadee Pope, Terry McDermott, and Nicholas David – the show is bringing about a diverse group of artists to keep you entertained throughout the night.
American Idol champ, Kelly Clarkson, will take the stage to perform her single “Catch My Breath” from her Greatest Hits Album, which is in stores now. Joining Clarkson will be R&B star Rihanna performing her hit single “Diamonds.” On the heels of his new album release, Bruno Mars will be on deck to perform his new single “When I Was Your Man” for the first time on television. Finally, rockers The Killers are set to appear and perform.
It’s likely the show’s coaches – Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Cee Lo Green – will in some way participate in the show’s festivities and NBC is promising a few more surprise performers along the way. The finale will surely have appearances and group performances featuring contestants who have been a part of the season, as well. The Voice airs it’s performance finale Monday at 8/7c, with a two-hour results finale on Tuesday night!
Who are you most excited to see? Which other artists would you like to see added to the lineup?
Before we give you the lay down on how Sandy is impacting television this week, we want to be sure to send our thoughts and prayers to all of those who are in one way or another affected by Sandy this week. You’re in the Yak’s thoughts.
Now, those of you hoping to get CBS’s comedy block and Hawaii Five-0 last night found out the hard way. CBS pre-empted their original programming and aired a CBS News special on Sandy, since those on the east coast likely were not able to enjoy the same laughs you might have. The original episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Partners, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly and Hawaii Five-0 will air next Monday, November 5.
ABC and NBC have also made some moves. NBC’s special Halloween episodes of Go On and The New Normal, slated to air Tuesday at 10/9c after The Voice, have been pre-empted. ABC has also pre-empted Private Practice on October 30. Both NBC and ABC will air special coverage of Hurricane Sandy instead. Private Practice will return November 13th (next week is Election coverage) and there is no word when NBC will air their Halloween comedy specials.
The irony between much of the country being unable to see Revolution last night is not lost on NBC. The peacock has opted to pre-empt their Thursday comedies (30 Rock, Up All Night, The Office and Parks & Rec) to air a repeat of Team Adam and Team Cee Lo’s Knockout Round on The Voice, which aired Monday night. Monday night’s Revolution will air Friday November 2 at 8pm ET, followed by an all-new Grimm. NBC will, however, air an ORIGINAL 30 Rock Wednesday Oct 31, since the episode is a continuation from last week’s election themed plotline. This will give Tina Fey and Co. to finish off that story before next week’s actual Presidential election. This 30 Rock episode knocks off the final episode of already cancelled Animal Practice.
Phew. Got all that? That about covers it … check your DVRs.

Adele Pregnant With First Child |
Yup, early Friday morning, Adele posted a special blog update on her official website, titled “I’ve got some news.”
Im delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx
Of course, we are over the top excited for Adele, one of the strongest, most unique and talented vocalists of our time. Best wishes to her and Simon and here’s to a happy and healthy pregnancy!
After 5 years, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will be divorcing. Many might have thought this was an inevitable moment in Hollywood history, while many are floored by the news. “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” Holmes’ attorney Jonathan Wolfe said in a statement. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.” After an Italian wedding in 2006, Tom and Katie have been at the forefront of many celebrity bloggers and Hollywood gossip. They have a 6 year old daughter, Suri, together. This was the first marriage for 33 year old Holmes and the third for Cruise, who turns 50 on Tuesday. He was previously married to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two children, Isabella, 19, and Connor, 17.
Stealthy TODAY Replacement |
As has been the buzz, Ann Curry is OUT of NBC’s The Today Show. And as has been the speculation, her replacement? Savannah Guthrie. With no mention of a new cohost combo, viewers of the Today Show noticed the stealthy cohost replacement early Friday morning. The program opened with Guthrie and Lauer behind the news desk with no mention of missing cohosts (Curry). Looks like NBC is keeping things classy with this change over. On Friday afternoon, NBC ended the speculation with this comment in a press release.
“As soon as Savannah joined NBC News she was a standout, reporting for every franchise in the news division and rising through the ranks. She has a one-of-a-kind combination of sharp wit and approachability, and our viewers value her journalistic skills and legal background just as much as her humor and charm. She can effortlessly go from interviewing the Secretary of State to jumping Olympic-sized hurdles on the Plaza. I’m thrilled to welcome Savannah as our newest co-anchor, and along with Matt, Al and Natalie, we’ve got the best morning team in the business.”
Fashion Star Host OUT |
Elle Macpherson, host of NBC’s reality show Fashion Star, has stepped down from her duties for the show’s upcoming second season. With this news, the show will also be parting ways with one of it’s retail partners, H&M. In an interview with the New York Post, Macpherson notes “I have been involved with Fashion Star from the beginning and am very proud to see it come to life, not only in America but globally. The show is in great hands, and although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very involved [as an executive producer and] will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season.” The show, expected to debut in early 2013, is not expected to part ways with judges Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos and Nicole Richie.
Christina Applegate Back as SYTYCD Guest Judge |
As announced via twitter on Friday afternoon by executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, Fox’s best reality competition series, So You Think You Can Dance, will be bringing back Christina Applegate as a guest judge some time this season. No word on her episode’s air date. SYTYCD just revealed this season’s Top 20 (and what a great bunch they are!) with Zooey Deschanel joining Lythgoe and Hot Tamale Mary Murphy. The series will be taking a break for the 4th, but will be back with the first LIVE show on July 11 at 8/7c!
It’s All Smiles at THE VOICE |
When The Voice closed season 2, things were not all bubbly behind the scenes. Tensions were reportedly in the air between mentors Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera. Levine recently told MTV that things are now much better between the pop rocker and the songstress. “We bickered a little bit in the beginning, to be totally truthful, we had a little bit of a rough start, just kind of all getting to know each other,” Levine mentioned of his bond with Aguilera. Things seemed to really heat up with Levine’s finalist (and ex-Mouseketeer) Tony Lucca singing “99 Problems,” which Aguilera found “derogatory.” Levine has cleared the air saying that he loves her, “she’s the best, and we’re having a fantastic time as of late on the set.” The Voice is currently filming the blind auditions for season 3, set to premiere Sept 10 on NBC!
Blake Shelton, fresh off Season 2 of The Voice, is busy working on a recently announced Christmas album, touring the nation promoting Red River Blue, preparing for season 3 of The Voice, juggling married life and writing new music. If that sounds like a lot, that’s because it is. Even Blake thinks so. The reigning ACM and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year and judge of NBC’s popular singing competition (who mentored winner Jermaine Paul) has come out to note that two seasons of the show per year might be a bit much. With production on season 3 kicking off today, Blake has been feeling the extra pressure.
In an interview with Country Weekly, Blake tells them that “At some point, something’s gotta give at some point. And I don’t like it. I’ve been very vocal with the network and Mark Burnett’s production company. It’s like, ‘Man, this sucks.’”
Blake will be joining Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Cee Lo back in their special red chairs for season 3, but questions are arising whether a new batch of artists will be around for season 4 should it air in January of 2013. Shelton went on to say that ”The reason that you want the four of us is because we’re viable artists right now, current..and we can’t do both if we do back-to-back seasons.” He went on, “I’ve been hammering them about it, but we are gonna do this fall. We’ve already committed to that … and I look forward to it. I love it, and I can’t imagine not being a part of ‘The Voice,’ ever.” Balancing the show with his music career and marriage is tough. ”I mean, I’d love to do it from now on, but it just needs to work in a way that I can still [tour] and do that at the same time,” says Shelton. “So, something’s gotta give, you know.”
Shelton is currently atop country music charts with his new single, “Over.” The Voice will be hitting Memphis, TN (July 7-8), Minneapolis, MN (July 14-15), New York, NY (July 21-22), Dallas, TX (July 28-29) and Los Angeles, CA (Aug 11-12) looking for THE VOICE in America. If you’re interested, more details can be found on NBC’s The Voice official website.
As reported in our forum HERE on Monday, apparently there was more to The Voice finale than meets the eye. I personally had missed Monday’s episode but luckily had it recorded, so, I sat down to watch them both, back to back last night. After reading about the tension between Adam and Christina during rehearsals Monday, it made both shows much more interesting. It was reported, by a source supposedly close to Christina, that Ms. Aguilera was quite upset at the song choice Adam was said to have picked for his finalist, “99 Problems” by Jay Z. In it, the lyric goes “I’ve got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one”, which I guess Christina took as a reference to her.
Maybe it was, but then, do you blame Lucca and Adam?
According to said source, Christina threw a fit, called it ridiculous and was highly offended. All in all, she got NBC to tell Adam and Tony that they would have to change the song lyric from “bitch” to “chick.” Adam was not pleased saying changing the song lyric would be a death sentence. He blew up during the coach’s rehearsal… (yes, the coach’s were supposed to sing together last night) and called her a “f***ing c***.” Christina then went to production saying Adam should be fired, that she is tired of Adam being treated as “the golden boy” and she is “sick of being treated this way.” The source went on to say that “If America knew how disgusting he (Adam) was, they would be appalled.”
Adam’s fit put a halt in rehearsals supposedly, locking himself in his trailer saying he won’t do anything until this gets figured out. Christina called him “incredibly immature.”
After watching the shows, it pretty much matches the vibe.
First show, Christina critiqued Tony on his “99 Problems” song (in which he neither said “bitch” or “chick”) called it degrading to women. Ahem. Christina… really? First, why not tell that to Jay Z. Tony Lucca didn’t write it. Secondly, why not cover up those breasts a bit, or put on pants at least, before you start discussing degradation. Or better yet, here is Christina’s version of NOT being degrading to women:
Adam of course responded, telling her that it was a metaphor for life’s problems, rather than an attack on women. After a bit of a back and forth, Adam then took off his shirt to reveal a pink sparky “team xtina” shirt. Oh Adam, stop mocking poor Christina! Can anyone say awkward?
Here is the video if you missed it, including Christina’s critique:
A bit later in the show, while Tony was thanking not just his, but ALL the coaches including Christina, as the camera panned over to them, you can see Christina texting or what not on her phone rather than paying any attention to him. Way to take the high road Christina.
On to the next night. First notable, there was no coach performance. Looks like that got scrapped. Second notable… Hall and Oates jammed out their famous tune”Rich Girl” in which the word “bitch” is said over and over and over, and yet NBC allowed it. I guess Christina didn’t have a problem with it then?
Third most notable… where the hell were Christina’s pants? Did Adam take them?
Since, Christina has supposedly apologized to Lucca, but it appears the fight continues. Just a few hours ago there was another veiled tweet from Adam saying “Ignorance has this unique way of making me want to both laugh AND cry simultaneously…” Was that yet another jab at the diva? One will never know.
My personal opinion? Christina seemed to have a problem with Lucca from the get go. Just about every week was another diss from her. Was there some unsettled Mickey Mouse business going on there? Did she have a crush on him back then and he didn’t return the favor? Was he mean to her back then?
Regardless, it’s time for Christina to grow up a bit. Not everything is about her, and what is, really, shouldn’t be able to penetrate her. She has a great voice and a huge career. Why something so trivial would put her in a huff is beyond me. She takes herself way too seriously. In fact, she hasn’t been that easy to work with in the past. Little things, like before rehearsals at the Grammy’s a couple of a years ago, she was chewing gum which she proceeded to toss on the floor and have a P.A. come clean it up. It really is little things like that show you the kind of person someone is. Way too seriously, or, true diva, you decide.
Course wishing her to grow up a bit might not be what I want. Turmoil on set between Adam and Christina, while Cee Lo just smiles and Blake tries to stir the pot a bit is a lot more fun than just watching them all kumbaya over their contestants, isn’t it?
Stay tuned for more information on the whereabouts of Christina’s pants… That one has me fascinated.
Oh and congrats Jermaine! Sorry it became all about this and not about you. Nice win though!
