FIRST LOOK! Big Brother Canada House Tour

With Big Brother Canada set to premiere in February 2013, the production crew is hard at work on the cage that will house the first crop of Canadian hamsters. ET Canada takes BB fans (American and Canadian alike!) inside the walls of the Ontario studio for the very first glimpse at the BB Canada house. While the house is still very much under construction, it’s looking pretty righteous, eh? The house will feature an indoor backyard, similar to the one featured on the Glass House. The shows producer promises that a “soft box” will be installed that will change the lighting throughout the day, casting shadows and bringing the outdoors indoors. Also noted in the video is the fact that just like its American sibling, BB Canada will feature a studio audience during its live eviction shows. So, Canadian super fans, be on the lookout for tickets soon!

Thanks to YouTube, we can now bring those of you here in the USA the clip. Enjoy, and be sure to share your thoughts with us.

Details Emerge on Big Brother Canada, Eh

As we previously reported, Big Brother is moving to the north! It is about time and we’re honestly surprised it has taken that long, but our Canadian friends can now get a shot at being a houseguest and vying for the prize! We’ve got some new details that have emerged about Big Brother Cananda …. BUT FIRST, a few details about Big Brother 14 (US) for our Canadian friends. We know Canadians have had Big Brother After Dark in Canada for a few seasons now, but news broke today that BBAD will air 7 days a week on Slice from 2am – 5am. Now, we’re not sure if this will be LIVE or just delayed coverage that we’ll get on Showtime Too in America.

According to Shaw Media, casting for Big Brother Canada is set to begin in July … as in next month! Casting will last until January 2013. That’s a long time, if you ask us, but that will give Canadians a good shot at getting in the house! According to Shaw Media, promotions for casting will kick off on TV on July 12, the same day Big Brother 14 premieres. Online casting submissions kick off August 10 and a cross country casting tour will begin September 24.

The house will be set in Toronto and construction will kick off in September. There will be both indoor and outdoor areas of the house. Big Brother Canada kicks off February 18, 2013 and will air in a similar format to Big Brother US. There will be 3 one-hour installments per week. The season will last a total of 10 weeks. Two of the episodes will be pre-taped, while one will be LIVE each week, likely an eviction episode.

So what do you think our Canadian neighbors up north? Which among you will be submitting your casting tapes for your shot at Big Brother famedom?

Big Brother Heading Up to Our Northern Neighbors!

It’s about time isn’t it? The Big Brother franchise is finally headed up to Canada. Just like the U.S. version, BB Canada will pit a diverse cast of peeps living under the BB watchful eye 24/7 in a house to win some cash.

According to the Executive Producer of Big Brother Canada, John Brunton, “The franchise presents an opportunity to make serious waves north of the border. Like Captain Kirk said, ‘Boldly go where no man has gone before.’ We’ve never produced a show that shoots 24/7. Casting this program is going to be a blast.” Isn’t that true! I don’t know how many times our Canadian fans have complained about not having access to the U.S. feeds or not having their own show. It’s about darn time.

Details, for now, are sketchy, but Shaw Media has announced that the series will be airing on the 2012/2013 season in ‘Slice’.

Now our only question is… will the U.S. have access to watching it? Will the U.S. be able to buy the Canadian feeds? I sure hope so! So Canadian fans, are you excited? U.S. fans, will you tune in if you can? Leave us a comment below!
